Sync Winnable Deals

Use the Sync All button on the Winnable Deals tab every so often to upload your wins to the Solavant server. Even if you don't play Winnable Deals yourself, others that enjoy the feature will be able to play your wins.

Keep in My Favorites

Be sure to use the "Keep in My Favorites" checkbox as you try new games. Solavant has a lot of games to try, so you might forget one you like if you don't play it for a while. Always putting games that you enjoy into your favorites makes it easy to remember that it was fun. You can always remove a game from your favorites in the future if you change your mind.

Navigating the Game Finder with the Keyboard

You can navigate the Game Finder's list using the keyboard. Type a letter and the first game in the alphabetical list that starts with that letter will be selected. The arrow keys will move the selection up and down the list. Hit the Return key to start the selected game.

How Does This Column Work?

Sometimes you might forget how a pile, column, or space works in a game. Move the mouse cursor over anything on the game screen and a short explanation of how it works will appear at the bottom of the window.

Using the Rules Drawer with a Maximized Window

You can't see the rules if you play with the Solavant window maximized to fit the entire screen. To see the rules, open the Rules Drawer before maximizing the window. If the window is already maximized, click the Rules Drawer toolbar button once to open it then maximize the window again. Both of these will maximize the window with the Rules Drawer showing.

Pausing the Timer

If you use the game timer and want to pause a game in progress, minimize the game window to the Mac OS X Dock. The timer will stop running until the window is restored. You can minimize the game window using the Mac OS X minimize button in the upper-left corner or the Minimize menu item in the Windows menu.

Card Sizes

Solavant has three card sizes to accommodate the layouts of the various games. Sizes are changed in the View menu. Once you've set a card size for a particular game, Solavant will remember the setting every time you play that game in the future.

Difficulty Definition

Solavant categorizes games by difficulty. All the games are easy to learn and play, "difficulty" refers to your chances of winning:
  • Hard: 50% or better
  • Harder: 10% to 50%
  • Hardest: less than 10%
You can find difficulty defined in the Help menu under Solavant Help.

Card Dragging

You don't have to drag cards all the way to the end of columns and place them perfectly. Drop a card anywhere on a column. If it can move to the end of that column, Solavant will put it there automatically.
